METHODOLOGY
The study took place on road network of the administrative department of Eure (Normandy, France) and at the exit of the
Maternity ward of Evreux.
First, the special trained investigator made a technical verification of the installation of the child seat and then, interviewed the driver.
First the field investigations were conducted at the exit of maternity ward during summer 2008 with more than one hundred of new-borns observed.
The second part of the collection was taken place on main roads (highways and motorways) during long trips like holiday departures, and in urban areas, during daily travels (school, shopping...) with the help of the French Gendarmerie and the French Police.
« Interception» of road users was realized on safe places. The CEDRE project was naturaly included as an action of prevention for the police and not as an action of repression ! Technical verifications and interviews was done by Christophe LEDON, independent accidentologist. |
